Taking this one hard

I am taking this one very hard, we tried so hard to save them.

When I told the kids, he did not make it, they were sad. Devin, bless his heart, said, "he is a better place now." And I try to remember that. God has special plans for them.

People talk so bad of breeders, but we all are not the same. Yes, there are some out there, that do not care. And only breed for the money. We breed to better the breed, to make better quality Netherland dwarf's. The breeders, I know, love their bunnies as family. We take better care of our bunnies than a lot of pet owners. Even though, we have many more. You will not see our bunnies with overgrown nails, sitting in a cage that needed cleaned two weeks ago. We always have feed and hay on hand, and did not forget to get some on the way home. And instead of giving them store bought veggies, which are not good for them. We go out and pick their natural food. Our bunnies get clovers, dandelion leaves, willow and apple branches.

We love all of our bunnies, and each loss hurts. I still love Ms Nasty. She was a first time mom and hopefully she will get it. But if she doesn't, that does not mean I will love her less.

My hubby is being real supportive and did not even say a word about me re - breeding, all the girls last night. Which is amazing. But he also knows the boys have no JR's for fair or shows. In fact, our numbers are so low right now, they only have three bunnies to show. Sold to many of the last babies, trying to make room for the otter babies. Ironic isn't it, we have not had any otters make it. As for now, we like to keep our numbers to twelve. We only have six total. Hopefully soon, we will be able to double the amount of cages. Which will allow us to keep some JR's longer.

Sorry to keep going on about the bunnies. Hopefully soon, I will get back to cross stitch. I have been stitching, just in between tears. I haven't taken a bunny death this hard since Sweetie, had to be put down. The photo is of her. Just two months old, when we had to put her down. She loved to give bunny kisses.
