Remembering Mary

Remembering Mary.... Here is a photo of her with some of the flowers sent from my work, Union, and officers. What beautiful flowers they were. Of course they have all since died, but I took many photos of them. Those photos are in my Flowers album. I am planning on scrap booking an album. But as usual, I started taking photos and just kept going and going. The two flowers with the photo were from my department and the Police officers. The two plants are from our unions. Both are beautiful.

My Chief came to the viewing and was really in awe at all that Mary had accomplished in her short time here.

Mary married Arthur Harrison and they had nine children. She divorced him for abuse and refusing to allow her to go back to school.

She, while raising nine children as a single mom, went on to get her GED, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from the University of Michigan in 1975. And obtained her Master of Arts Degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1982. She taught for the Ann Arbor Public School System from 1971 to 1988. She was known for her stern yet caring teaching style.

She gave her life to Christ at an early age, and attended the Community Church of God in Ypsilanti. She taught Sunday school for several years. She also served on the usher board and the deaconate board. She dedicated much of her time to studying the word. She received three more degrees from William Tyndale College, with the last degree earn in 2002.

She brought biblical characters to life through her teachings with her homemade costumes for presentations and plays to exemplify the Word of God.

Mary left behind her nine children and their spouses, three brothers(three preceded her in death), one sister, 32 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
